The Iowa African American Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made major contributions of statewide significance that have improved the quality of life for Iowans. Induction into the Iowa African American Hall of Fame is the highest honor an individual can receive by the African American community. The nomination process reflects the importance of this honor and requires a committed effort on the part of the organizations or individuals who complete the materials. Nominees may be living or deceased in accordance with the guidelines.
Nominations for the 2024 Iowa African American Hall of Fame are now open. Please click the link below to complete the nomination form by May 1, 2024. Initially, and due to the recent pandemic, the IAAHF plans on inducting up to six inductees per year, starting during in spring 2024.
